Inside Scandinavian Design: The story behind Campus by Lammhults

What makes a product iconic? How does a chair become a bestseller? And how does the success of a product influence the image of a company, both at home and abroad? The Campus chair became a financial marvel for Swedish company Lammhults. It was the early 1990s, Swedish design was garnering attention worldwide, and Lammhults felt it was time to increase exports. The brief to Danish designers Johannes Foersom and Peter Hiort-Lorenzen was clear: make a metal pipe chair with a range of possible uses that would sell in large numbers in a lot of countries.
