Ta chansen att ha en mentor ett helt år!
Greenhouse is a concept with the aim to encourage unestablished designers and to help them get a foot in the door of the very competitive design industry. Every year, design schools and designers are chosen to showcase their works at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair in Stockholm. Since 2017, Greenhouse offer a one-year mentorship program that provides five independent designers the opportunity of having the support and feedback of a mentor. Through the mentorship program, the selected designers are given an opportunity to thrive with help from a design professional with many years of experience from the design industry.
The chosen protégés for the Mentorship Programme 2018 was Anne Harvala (Sweden) with mentor Andreas Mattisson, Range & Product Development Manager at Lammhults, Tiel (Korea) and Auster Design Studio (Spain) mentored by Johan Lindau, Design Manager at Blå Station, Normal Object Factory (Sweden) with mentor designer Lisa HIlland, Sakari Hartikainen (Finland) with mentor designer Monica Förster and bonpart (Austria) mentored by designer Mattias Stenberg.
“It’s been of great value to have mentor like Andreas beside me for a year”
Anna Harvala tells us that she during the year gained new perspectives through the eyes of Andreas Mattisson, who could give her advice when starting new collaborations for her table series ‘Unify’, which will launch during Paris Design Week in January if all goes by plan.
Similarly, Normal Object Factory has seen their mentor Lisa Hilland as a good support. Their meetings have helped them find new ways and tools to try to reach their goals.
We strongly believe in the importance of supporting the interaction between young designers and the industry. For 2019, we will continue with and develop the mentorship program, and within shortly we will announce new mentors
